Alaska Indigenous Policy Coordinator (Part-Time)

The Alaska Indigenous Policy Coordinator will serve as the primary facilitator of Businesses for Conservation and Climate Action’s (BCCA) Alaska Indigenous policy activities, ensuring internal & external consistency and delivering ideas, concepts, and materials to coalition members and policymakers.

Reporting

The BCCA consultants team is a “flat-back” management structure, meaning each member of the team is accountable and holds accountable every other member of the team. As a group, the consultants work for and answer directly to the BCCA Steering Committee.

Primary Responsibilities

• Cultivate and maintain an expanded coalition of Indigenous conservation leaders and activists to increase exposure and coordination/communication throughout the region
• Work with Indigenous businesses and communities to create action oriented policies to uphold and forward Indigenous justice, equity, & enfranchisement in Alaska
• Assist with the development of business case materials and coordinate the development of policy position papers and/or other external-facing documents focused on alaska and/or Indigenous issues

Qualifications

No stringent qualification requirements, but successful applicants will demonstrate ability and comfort to convene Tribes, Indigenous organizations, and stakeholder groups; read and digest policy; and communicate with a team both in writing and verbally.

Alaska – Remote

Hours

10 hours/week part-time/contract, compensation $30-$50/hour based on experience (negotiable).
